There are many ways to relax, but one of the best — if done right — is to take a vacation.

Yet many people don't take time away from work at all. The phenomenon is particularly acute in the U.S. with almost 25% of Americans saying they haven't taken a day of vacation in the past year.

When people do take vacation, there's a tendency to try to pack everything in, opting for trips and experiences that leave us depleted and feeling more tired and exhausted than before we left home.

This month at This Life is Good, we've been focusing on Rejuvenation — the fifth path of the Thrivers’ Way and its themes of rest, sleep, relaxation, and restoration.

If you've been following along, you know that making sure you’re getting enough sleep, eating well, and moving your body helps. You also know that rest is important too, and that without it, you're likely to feel overwhelmed and drained.

This week, we're focusing on restoration and relaxation, the kind that's akin to a retreat — a quiet or secluded place in which one can rest and relax (source).
